Description: Trout Trophy

My trophy was created by a ironworker/artist by the name of Don Petersen, for ironworkers for a trout tournament to be shared and given to and returned back the next year for the new winner to hold for one year.

The plate below the sculpture is to hold the names of the winners from each year. The trout trophy was explained to the ironworker/artist that I wanted a fish trophy made out of steel on a base so that the trophy could be exhibited until the next tournament, the following year.

The branches and fish were made out of steel pipe, base made out of checker plate and gills are made out of flat plate steel. It was all welded together by using Cee Kay rods. The trophy weighs approximately 20lbs. The color of the trophy was done with a gas torch to achieve the color of a real fish and then clear coated to preserve the look of the steel and bluing color on the fish.
