Description: Ornate Skull

This is my sculpture that is hand crafted from A36 plate steel with a custom machined inconel base.

I am calling it the Cee Kay Bad to the Bone sculpture. The welding hood is an exact scale replica of a fibre metal model 110P pipeliner hood; it's fully functional and features an American Optics Cool Weld lens that has been cut down to fit inside, I used the hood to weld the skull to the base just to see if I could. The skull and the hood were hand formed over a bull nose anvil and heli-arced together.

After the welding was completed I superheated, peened then blued the skull and hood to give it an old school look. The teeth on the skull are brass overlays that were A/C heli-arced. The base is machined inconel with the Cee Kay logo etched into it.

It took approximately 10-12 hours to build. The Cee Kay Bad to the Bone sculpture is a testament that a true welder will never die!!
