Cee Kay Helps Clean Streams, Makes Art

Published: May 23, 2012

St. Louis, MO – For the fourth year in a row, Cee Kay Supply employees volunteered to participate in the 9th Annual Mission: Clean Stream event on April 28th, 2012.

Annual Mission: Clean Stream began in 2003 with the goal of removing trash from area creeks and lakes. For the past 5 years, artwork has been created from metal scrap found by volunteers.

This year’s metal art project created by Cee Kay employees Heath Wells, Regional Vice President of Sales, and Dave Teson, Western Regional Manager, was an owl perched up in a nest.  The project took approximately 12 hours to weld together and was constructed using barbed wire, galvanized pipe, gears, a manhole cover and other various pieces of scrap metal.

Around 70 volunteers worked to clean up 2,360 lbs of trash at this year’s event. Since the program started, over 62,000 lbs of trash has been collected and 900 volunteers have participated.
